Six months after Steph Curry’s parents Sonya and Dell Curry split, the Warriors point guard is addressing the situation.

In an interview with The Ringer, published earlier this month, Curry said navigating his parents’ divorce after 33 years of marriage has been a challenging experience.

“I could be mad and be like, ‘Y’all effed this up.’ I could have that approach,” he said. “But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all.”

The news of his parents’ breakup broke last August and shocked NBA fans that know how much of a staple Sonya and Dell had been at their son’s games.

Last December, the exes were in attendance, but sat separately at Madison Square Garden when Curry became the NBA’s all-time leading three-point scorer.

After he made history by surpassing Ray Allen’s three-point record, Curry approached his parents individually due to the new family dynamic.

“I had to make sure I was in that moment with both of them separately, and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing,” he told The Ringer. “That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging.”

The father of three embraced his dad near Golden State’s bench and gifted Dell the game ball after the Warriors beat the Knicks. A few minutes later, he headed down an MSG tunnel to see his mother for an emotional celebration.

The father-son duo later partied the night away in Manhattan with Curry’s former Warriors teammate and current Nets guard, Kevin Durant, and longtime friend and teammate, Andre Iguodala.

Before the divorce proceedings, Sonya and Dell would split time taking in Steph’s games and traveling to watch his younger brother Seth Curry play.

On Feb. 10, Seth was traded from the Sixers to the Nets in a blockbuster deal that swapped James Harden for Ben Simmons.

Last August, TMZ said court records revealed that Sonya filed for divorce on June 14 in North Carolina — and that the exes accused each other of cheating. It’s unknown whether the divorce has been finalized.

Sonya and Dell married in 1988, the same year Steph was born. Dell, a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 1994, was still playing at the time. The couple welcomed Seth in 1990, and daughter Sydel Curry in 1994.

Dell played until 2002, and retired as the Hornets’ all-time leader in points (9,839) and 3-point field goals made (929). He currently serves as a color commentator on Hornets broadcasts.

Curry reflected on his son’s accomplished on a broadcast in Charlotte, and showed off the signed game ball.

“That’s a proud papa right there. I know how hard he’s worked and I had no idea he’d make that many threes,” Curry said at the time.

STEPH CURRY'S WIFE AYESHA WISHES NBA STAR HAPPY BIRTHDAY 'Love You Beyond Measure'

Ayesha Curry poured her heart out for her NBA superstar husband on his special day … sending Steph a super-romantic note on his birthday.

Steph turned the big 3-4 on Monday … and Ayesha was there to congratulate her husband on another year of life.

Stephen Curry

“Happy birthday to the love of my life!,” Ayesha said on Instagram. “You bring our family so much joy and happiness. We love you beyond measure. The year ahead is bright and I can’t wait to watch you grow and thrive even more.”

“To my favorite person in the world, happy birthday @stephencurry30 ! 🥰🥰🥰.”

Steph and Ayesha first met when they were in high school. After years of dating, Steph proposed to Ayesha … and the two tied the knot in 2011. The power couple has been married for more than 10 years and now have three children together — Riley Elizabeth, 9, Ryan Carson, 6, and Canon W. Jack, 3.

Of course, Steph’s wife doesn’t mess around when it comes to their union — she recently denied rumors alleging they were in an open relationship … saying the claims are “ridiculous” and calling it disrespectful to her marriage to make such an insinuation.

Ayesha is by far Steph’s biggest cheerleader — she was in the building at Madison Square Garden when Steph passed Ray Allen for the most 3-pointers made in NBA history.

It’s clear their love is going stronger than ever!!

The news could explain the 2008 world champion’s uncharacteristically bad mood last weekend in Korea, where he vowed to begin to “redeem” himself after the worst period in terms of form and incidents in his career.

The Daily Mail says 26-year-old Hamilton’s split after four years with American pop singer Nicole Scherzinger, 33, is because of their “conflicting work schedules”.

Separate spokesmen for Hamilton and Scherzinger did not comment.

But the news was also reported by the Daily Mirror and the Sun, with a source saying the pair have “agreed there’s no point as they never see each other”.

Stephen Curry Responds To Ayesha Curry’s Question ‘What Could You Not Live Without For One Month’: “Sex, Coffee, Your Phone, Or Weed?”

Published

Steph Curry is one of the most popular players on the NBA stage and it has led to his wife Ayesha Curry finding herself in the spotlight at times as well. The two have enjoyed the limelight and have become one of the more well-known couples in the NBA.

Ayesha has previously come under fire for comments she has made regarding feeling to be wanted, but things have improved considerably since then. She even spoke about her body transformation and how she hopes it would inspire others to follow in her lead.

The couple recently went on HBO’s About Last Night show and we got some hilarious soundbites out of it too!

Ayesha Curry: “Babe what could you not live without for a month?”

Steph Curry: “Sex, for sure.”

Ayesha Curry: “Okay” (laughs)

When Ayesha asked her husband what he couldn’t live without for a month if he had to choose between sex, coffee, his phone, or weed, Steph answered without hesitation, sex, for sure.

Ayesha did not seem too surprised by the response which indicates that the couple seems to be on the right terms at the moment. From the outside looking in, it hasn’t always seemed that way, so it is good to see the couple having some fun on the set with each other. Also on the show were the likes of Draymond Green, who opted to avoid answering this question.

Draymond Green: “Damn that’s tough”

Curry and Draymond had some fun on the show but their eyes are now all set on getting back to the NBA Finals. The Warriors eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies to get to the Western Conference finals and will face the Dallas Mavericks, who stunned the top-seeded Phoenix Suns.

They are heavy favorites against the Mavs and not making it to the Finals this season would be a major surprise at this point. With their championship pedigree, you have to think another title is very much on the cards.

Steph and Ayesha met in a church youth group. They were 15 and 14 at that time. They reconnected when Ayesha was in LA, pursuing her acting career, and Steph was in Davidson. The duo got married in 2011, and have been together since.

'Astonished' Lewis Hamilton made 'urgent phone calls' after FIA's Michael Masi comments

Lewis Hamilton was said to be left ‘astonished’ by reports that former FIA race director Michael Masi could return to a fresh role. The governing body’s president, Mohammed ben Sulayem, revealed last week that the door was open for Masi’s controversial comeback.

Lewis Hamilton: Will Brit be banned for Monaco Grand Prix?
An interview given by Ben Sulayem has apparently stunned Hamilton into making ‘urgent phone calls’. The Mercedes ace felt robbed of a world title last year after Masi made a contentious decision towards the culmination of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The Australian was sacked from his position as race director following the event. Hamilton was leading title rival Max Verstappen, only for a safety car to be deployed on the track.

Masi controversially allowed five lapped cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to unlap before the final lap was started. Verstappen, on fresher, softer tyres, overtook Hamilton to win the race and the world championship.

The departure of Masi came after pressure from senior figures at Mercedes. However, Ben Sulayem told the Daily Mail last week: “Michael is there and we might use him. We are open to everything.”
