Tiger Woods CBD Scam and Fake ‘Reviews’ Flood Google

Published

on

We took notice when a handful of “reviews” for a product named Tiger Woods CBD Gummies invaded Google News search results.

Tiger Woods CBD Gummies reviews littered Google search results even though the pro golfer never endorsed or authorized the products.

Beginning in April 2022, several social media accounts and fake “reviews” were created to push a purported product named Tiger Woods CBD Gummies. The sales pitches on these pages led to Smilz CBD Gummies and Eagle Hemp CBD Gummies, for example. Some of these products have been associated with several other scams that featured unauthorized and fake CBD endorsements from former talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz, the cast of “Shark Tank,” actor Keanu Reeves, and “Jeopardy” host Mayim Bialik, to name a few.

Regarding Woods, the truth was that the PGA golfer never endorsed any CBD gummies products. It was all a scam.

We documented our findings in what appeared to be less than a week since the scam began running with Woods’ name.

Tiger Woods CBD Gummies on Social Media

Social media accounts were created to promote the scam across several platforms.

On Facebook, we found at least 31 pages that were named Tiger Woods CBD Gummies. All of them were either brand new or just had their page names changed in the month of April. The fact that there were already this many Facebook pages pushing the scam in the first week it was going on showed the scale of the operation:

On Twitter, the following accounts were all created at around the same time: @Tiger_Woods_CBD@tiger_cbd@tigerwoodscbd@TigerGummies@TigerWoodsPrice, and @Tigerwoods_cbd_. All six of these accounts had the display name, “Tiger Woods CBD Gummies.” They also said they were based in the “united states,” which was typed in lowercase letters. Based on other scams we’ve reported on in the past, we believe that it’s likely that this one was at least partially managed from outside of the U.S.

Other than Facebook and Twitter, a fake “review” for Tiger Woods CBD Gummies was published on LinkedIn. We even found a YouTube video that promoted a fake “review” for the product. It was uploaded on April 26:

Fake ‘Reviews’ for Tiger Woods CBD Gummies

On top of the social media channels, fake “reviews” littered the search results in both Google and Google News. We found content promoting the scam for Tiger Woods CBD Gummies and Smilz CBD Gummies on Crunchbase.comDeviantArtTechPlanetTimes of CBDsites.google.comGoogle GroupsPatch.comTop 10 CBD Oil Store, and Scoop.it.

Mentions of Tiger Woods CBD Gummies even invaded job listings for emergency personnel, perhaps because the websites would provide good placement in Google search results. For example, we found job listings that were posted and then removed from EMS1.com, Police1.com, and Corrections1.com.

One listing created by a community member on Patch.com said that a Tiger Woods CBD Gummies event would soon be held at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. However, this was not true. It was likely created with a randomly chosen location to accomplish the same goal as the job listings: to try to get the scam’s name to land high up in Google search results.

What to Expect in the Future

The people who manage these kinds of CBD gummies scams often create misleading ads to push the products. In other words, paid advertising may be created in the future that tries to push death hoaxes or mention “allegations” against Woods to entice users to click, just as we saw with other similar fake CBD endorsement scams.

For example, we previously reported on one such ad that made it look like actor Whoopi Goldberg had died. In reality, she was alive. Upon clicking the ad, the resulting page displayed a scam that falsely claimed Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey were selling CBD gummies.

In sum, no, Woods did not endorse a product named Tiger Woods CBD Gummies. It was all a scam that used his image and likeness without his authorization to sell other products with names like Smilz CBD Gummies, Eagle Hemp CBD Gummies, and others.

ATP players revolt against Rafa Nadal over Wimbledon stance

Published

on

A number of the world’s top male tennis players have reportedly taken umbrage with Rafa Nadal’s stance on Wimbledon’s ban on Russian and Belarusian players after it emerged that the ATP is planning to strip rankings points from the grass-court event in June.

The ATP tour has reportedly decided that players won’t be able to receive rankings points at Wimbledon in retaliation to the All England Club’s decision to ban players from Russia and Belarus.

Nadal, who sits on the ATP player council, appears to be in favour of the ATP’s move and addressed the situation at the Italian Open last Wednesday.

The 21-time grand slam champion, who previously said it was “unfair” that players from Russia and Belarus won’t be allowed to play, refused to disclose details of “private conversations” with the 10-person player council.

However he did say: “[The] only thing we can do is be in touch with Wimbledon and the rest of the ATP management to do the things that work better to protect every single player in the ATP.

“At the end, that’s our job: to protect the players and to work [to] the benefit of every single player that we are representing.”

While Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have expressed similar sentiments, the Telegraph in the UK reports that their views are not shared by the entire ATP cohort.

On Saturday, British player Liam Broady led calls for a vote on the idea of Wimbledon being stripped of ranking points.

“Would be great if the ATP and WTA kept players informed with decisions regarding the grass season point structure, maybe even had a vote about what players thought,” Broady tweeted.

“They are players associations after all…”

Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer called out

The All England Club recently said it had “no viable alternative” than to bar Russian and Belarusian players due to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Royal Family had also reportedly expressed concerns about how it would look to have a Russian or Belarusian champion being presented with the trophy by the Duchess of Cambridge – who is often asked to do so.

Last week, the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Russia called out Nadal and Roger Federer to ‘come clean’ about their involvement in the plan to strip rankings points from Wimbledon.

“Federer and Nadal should come clean. Do they want Vladimir Putin to fail or don’t they care?” Chris Bryant MP said.

“The men’s tour are behaving appallingly. It’s like they haven’t heard what is happening in Ukraine or don’t care.”

Clive Efford MP, a member of the Digital, Culture, Media & Sport select committee and a former shadow sports minister, said: “The ATP needs to take a look around and appreciate how the rest of the world outside its bubble will view it for sanctioning Wimbledon for supporting Ukraine.”

According to The Telegraph in the UK, the ATP doesn’t have to ratify recommendations from the player council, but “insiders feel its board has little choice but to take their advice on this issue during meetings this week, when a vote could take place.”

The ban means Russian stars like Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev won’t be able to play, nor will Belarusians Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka.

Scott Disick isn’t the best at hiding his jealousy.

E! News has learned the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star lost his temper when girlfriend Sofia Richie started chatting with her former fling, Lewis Hamilton, over the New Year’s weekend.

The couple was up partying in Aspen, Colo., for the holiday when they ran into the British racing driver, who Sofia briefly hung out with in the past. A source tells us they were “never a couple” but “liked spending time together.”

“[They] were never exclusive. Lewis thought she was a cool girl,” the insider added. “Lewis and Sofia are still good friends. They are all adults.”

Still, Scott didn’t like their interaction, losing his temper for a bit.

“Scott got frustrated that they ran into Lewis over the weekend, and that it was unexpected,” a second source told us. “He doesn’t like surprises and reacts aggressively in situations like that. This isn’t the first time that Scott has lost it for a minute.”

The insider said that after dating him for several months now, Sofia “knows how to handle him” and was able to “calm him down.”

“Everything is fine between the two now,” the source explained. “They will get in small fights and are over it within a few minutes. Sofia is definitely a good match for him because she understands him and puts up with his behavior in moments like this.”

Another insider echoed that notion, telling us the 19-year-old model acted very “mature.”

“Scott gets insanely jealous of all kinds of things and has trouble controlling his emotions,” the source said. “He overreacted and got upset over Sofia saying hello to Lewis. He had no problem letting Sofia know he didn’t like it. She handled it very maturely and tried to respect his feelings. She knows how to deal with Scott and diffused the situation.”

Now, the couple are heading into the 2018 on a new page.

“Things are going well with Sofia and Scott,” the insider revealed. “She is really happy with him. They have little tiffs and moments of bickering, but overall things are great at the moment.”

Despite her many iconic roles, it’s clear that Scarlett Johansson’s most famous character is Natasha Romanoff in the MCU. She debuted in the role in Iron Man 2 in 2010 and reprised it in 2012’s The Avengers but a lot of her highlights came in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Although she hadn’t quite broken out just yet in 2001, Scarlett Johansson was already working with acclaimed auteurs. The Man Who Wasn’t There comes from The Coen Brothers and had Johansson share the screen with the likes of Frances McDormand and Billy Bob Thornton.

Set in 1949, the film follows a barber who blackmails his wife’s boss/lover for money to invest in dry cleaning, only for things to go awry. It’s classic Coen Brothers and works because of their style. Johansson plays Rachel “Birdy” Abundas, a piano-playing teen who the protagonist visits often.

8Lost In Translation (2003) – 3.88

In a lot of ways, Lost in Translation was the movie that opened many eyes to Scarlett Johansson’s talents. In the Sofia Coppola film, she plays Charlotte, a recent college graduate who forms a bond with an aging movie star (Bill Murray) having a midlife crisis in Tokyo.

Almost every aspect of the film was met with praise, especially the performances of Murray and Johansson. Lost in Translation was up for four Oscars (winning Best Original Screenplay) and many accolades at other award shows, with Johansson winning a BAFTA.

Scarlett Johansson has actually worked with Bill Murray on a handful of movies, with one of them being Isle of Dogs. From the creative mind of Wes Anderson, this stop-motion animated film tells the story of a boy searching for his dog after the species was transferred to live on trash island due to a disease.

The film was a critical darling, earning a Best Animated Feature Oscar nomination. Johansson lends her voice to Nutmeg, a show dog and the love interest of Chief (Bryan Cranston), the main dog in the story. It’s an underrated aspect of her career but Johansson is great at voice acting, as evidenced here.

After nearly a decade, the culmination of the story for Natasha Romanoff came in Avengers: Endgame. The blockbuster surpassed $2 billion at the box office and became the highest-grossing movie of all time for a while as it brought together more heroes than ever to take down Thanos.

Johansson arguably delivers her best performance as Black Widow here, showing what the loss of the previous film meant for her character. She also makes a major sacrifice, giving her own life so that her friend can reunite with his family and so billions could return from the Blip.

vengers: Infinity War (2018) – 3.98

Black Widow Secret Avengers Infinity War

While Johansson’s performance is likely stronger in the follow-up, Avengers: Infinity War has a slightly better overall score. This one brought together members of the Avengers with the Guardians of the Galaxy and new heroes to the mix like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.

It was the biggest crossover event to date as they all tried to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones and wiping out half of humanity. Met with widespread acclaim, the film lived up to the hype and has one of the most shocking endings in cinema history.

4Marriage Story (2019) – 3.99

Marriage Story

2019 was a banner year for Scarlett Johansson and is likely the best of her career. It started with Avengers: Endgame but later in the year, she starred in the critically-acclaimed Marriage Story, a Netflix original film.

The story centers on Nicole (Johansson) and Charlie (Adam Driver), a couple going through a coast-to-coast divorce. The highly emotional film from Noah Baumbach was lauded upon release and scored six Oscar nominations, including one for Johansson as Best Actress. She was also up for the Golden Globe and BAFTA.

As noted, Scarlett Johansson’s voice acting talents are severely underrated but her best work in that world likely came in Her. The movie tells the story of an introverted man (Joaquin Pheonix) who falls in love with his operating system, Samantha (voiced by Johansson).

This Best Original Screenplay winner was a hit with critics, while audiences have continued to find it on streaming services. A lot of the praise went to Johansson for bringing Samantha to life and showcasing various emotions despite not being a human character.

2Jojo Rabbit (2019) – 4.06

From the brilliantly weird mind of Taika Waititi, this film focuses on a Hitler Youth member (Roman Griffin Davis) who finds that his mother (Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their home.

While the performances are great up and down the cast, Johansson is at her best and earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod. That indeed gave her two Academy Award nominations in the same year, which is a rare feat. Her heartwarming performance is the emotional core of the film.

1The Prestige (2006) – 4.13

Scarlett Johansson The Prestige - Worst Miscastings

Christopher Nolan is known for his high-concept, creative films and The Prestige is no different. This one is about magic and the intense rivalry between two magicians in the 1800s that goes way further than it ever should.

Johansson joins a fantastic cast including Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Hall, Piper Perabo, and Michael Caine. She portrays Olivia, the assistant for Jackman’s character who gets sent to Bale’s character to spy on him, only to fall in love with him. It’s just one of several twists throughout this gripping story.

Lewis Hamilton drops out of Forbes’ rich list with Lionel Messi above Cristiano Ronaldo

Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton has dropped out of Forbes’ top-10 highest paid athletes, whilst football legend Lionel Messi has moved ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo following his move to Paris Saint Germain. Forbes releases the list annually, however this year one man missing from the list is Hamilton.

The Englishman’s earnings no doubt took a hit after he dramatically missed out on a record eighth world title, after losing to rival Max Verstappen on the last lap of the last race at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Whilst Hamilton has fallen out of the list, the man who can be found at the top is Messi.

The Argentine star made the move to PSG last summer after ending his 17-year stay with FC Barcelona. Whilst his wages in the French capital are less than that of what he earnt during his final season in Spain, Messi’s income is said to have been heavily boosted thanks to a number of endorsements and sponsorships, according to Forbes.

The 34-year-old’s leading pre-tax gross earnings over the last 12 months came in at a cool £106 million, £12 million more than his long-time rival Ronaldo who came in third with £94 million following his return to Manchester United. The home that Venus & Serena Williams grew up in is at the center of their stepmom Lakeisha’s nasty bankruptcy battle — and photos shown in court reveal the property is not only crumbling but filthy inside.

Radar has obtained snaps of the 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom, 3,422 sq. ft. property in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The images were submitted in court as part of an appraisal of the home.

43-year-old Lakeisha is married to the tennis superstars’ father Richard Williams. She filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in February attempting to save the home from foreclosure.

The home has been the center of controversy for some time. Richard originally bought the home with his ex-wife Oracene Price in 1995 for $335k.
