Floyd Mayweather is among the wealthiest athletes of all time. Several times, the Forbes list (2012, 2014, 2015, and 2018) announced Mayweather to be the world’s highest-paid athlete. Additionally, In a year-old interview, ‘Money’ had revealed he was worth over a billion. Now, in a recent update, it has been claimed that Floyd Mayweather earned a total of three billion dollars.

In a recent assessment of Floyd Mayweather’s PPV sales, it has been found that Money, in his lifetime, has gathered an amount as big as three billion dollars.

A year back when Mayweather revealed he crossed 1.2 billion dollar, he was asked how he reached that point. Mayweather had said, “I mean, the first thing is belief. I mean, I tell everybody in this room if you don’t… You got to believe first. If you don’t believe first, then you ain’t gonna never trust. You ain’t gonna never get to where you’re trying to get to. I believe I knew from the beginning I was the best in boxing from day one.”

Here is how Floyd Mayweather became the first three-billion-dollar man in the U.S. surpassing the likes of LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

The insane pay-per-view sales of Floyd Mayweather

Combining all the money Floyd Mayweather made from all the PPV sales we have the enormous figure of $3billion. These PPV sales that we take into consideration include his fights against the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, Marcos Maidana, Manny Pacquiao, Andre Berto, and ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor.

When Mayweather squared off with Golden Boy De La Hoya, it generated a PPV sale of 2.4 million. The fight against Canelo Alvarez on Sep 14, 2013 captured a PPV sale of 2.2 million. With Marcos Maidana, the numbers went down by a significant margin. The first fight against the Argentine generated only 900k, and the rematch, 925k total. However, the fights against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor witnessed an unparalleled growth. With Pacquiao, it was 4.6million and with McGregor, $4.3million PPV buys respectively.

Monaco Grand Prix “likely to be renewed” again as Prince Albert II weighs in on deal

Published

on

Monaco’s top motor racing chief declared the most famous race in Formula 1 is “likely to be renewed” again after its immediate future was secured this week.

The Monaco Grand Prix has, for the first time, been in genuine danger of being axed from the annual F1 schedule. For all its history and past glamour, there has been a feeling in recent years that the gathering in Monte Carlo is no longer the spectacle it once was.

The narrow and tight street track is considered by many to be unsuitable for modern F1 cars, which are longer and wider than ever before. As a result, races tend to be more of a procession with very few chances for overtaking.

But despite all the speculation, it was confirmed along with the provisional 2023 race calendar that Monaco’s place on the schedule is safe for now. A new agreement has been signed which will see the event remain on the schedule up to and including the 2025 season.

In response to the news, Automobile Club de Monaco president Michel Boeri did not come across as a man who was worried about the future of the race. In fact, he made the declaration that he feels the Monaco Grand Prix is likely to stick around even longer than the end of its new deal.

“In the interest of the Formula 1 world championship, and after several months of negotiations, we are proud to announce that we have signed a three-year agreement with Formula 1, and likely to be renewed,” he said.

He was not the only high-profile figure to react, as the news also got the royal seal of approval. Prince Albert II was in New York for the UN General Assembly when he was asked for his feelings about the continuation of the annual event in the principality.

“I personally could not imagine a Formula 1 season without the Monaco Grand Prix, for historical reasons,” he told reporters. “The Monaco Grand Prix is an important event in the life of the principality, both economically and in terms of prestige and notoriety.

“It is a tradition that has existed for almost 100 years. I would like to thank the Automobile Club de Monaco, Formula 1 and the FIA for having reached an agreement, so that we can move forward together to grow motor sports and F1.”

F1 CEO responds after ‘unhappy drivers’ raised concerns about calendar decision

Published

Stefano Domenicali has claimed the Belgian Grand Prix could remain on the F1 calendar after an uproar from drivers and team bosses. The F1 boss said discussions were “still ongoing” with organisers of the race at Spa-Francorchamps.

He revealed there was a “lot of respect” for F1’s traditional races and it was not right to say Belgium was in its “last year”. The Grand Prix is still without a contract past this weekend’s race while F1 continues its expansion into new territories.

Domenicali explained: “I would never have said the comments ‘Belgium will be in its last year’. I will be prudent on that comment. It’s true that we are working and discussing with other promoters to see if they’re ready for a full commitment this year or next year.

“We always discuss finding a mix of races, where we’re going to have at least one third in Europe, one third in the far-east area, and the other third in the American and Middle East. We want it to be balanced.

“Of course, we’re talking about the business where investments and financial contribution are very important. But we have always said that the traditional races, the races that we know cannot bring the money that others are bringing, have full respect from us. With Belgium, discussions are still ongoing, so I don’t know what is happening here.”

“There is a lot of respect for these places. But if you recall, Belgium, there were some periods where it was not in the calendar, and they came back again.” However, similar to Monaco, the Belgian Grand Prix has been a constant on the calendar since the first F1 championship in 1950.

The race did disappear from the calendar for 2006 while major upgrade work was completed on the circuit, but F1 did return a year later. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is also a favourite among fans and drivers with the race appearing in the top four of F1’s fan survey last season.

F1 fans all make same complaint over 2023 calendar which made teams ‘angry’

Published

Formula One supporters have slammed bosses for including three races in the United States next year with many taking aim at the Miami Grand Prix, which made its debut in May. Next season, F1 will visit three American venues with the new Las Vegas race set for November.

“So many better tracks than Miami and Las Vegas.” He later suggested Miami’s track was “incredibly boring” when others commented underneath his statement.

@jamesonLongfel2 also took aim at the Miami circuit, posting: “It’s too much money for ALL teams to spend on an objectively bad circuit. If you want to make Miami America’s Monaco, swap it with the Vegas race next time.”

It comes as teams were also left annoyed at the FIA for its shock calendar announcement this week. Twitter user @myorangespines said: “Ugh, three American tracks is not needed, for the fans.

@thusi_zhota commented: “It doesn’t seem fair really to have three races in one country when Africa doesn’t have a single race or a single thing.” The season is set to start on March 5 in Bahrain followed by Saudi Arabia and Australia.

China returns to the calendar in April with the first US race in Miami on May 7. The United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas is set for October with the new event in Las Vegas confirmed as the penultimate round of the season with a Saturday night race.

The championship will then end a week later on November 26 in Abu Dhabi. Twitter user @geordie_hammer wrote: “Just a reminder that FIA F1 is no longer about decent tracks, racing and the fans.

NEYMAR may have a reputation for falling over on the pitch but Lewis Hamilton has revealed that the Brazilian winger turned down the chance to go sky diving in Qatar.

The duo, who share perhaps one of the most high-profile friendships in global sport, caught up in the Middle Eastern country on Saturday evening.

Hamilton captioned his Instagram post "Catching up with my brother"

Posting a picture of their meeting on social media, Neymar described Hamilton as his “brother from another mother” but evidently had no interest in indulging the Formula 1 champion’s habit for the extreme.

On his Instagram stories, the Brit wrote: “Tried to get my bro Neymar to come skydive with me this morning.

“His facial expression was priceless.

“However I did convince him to one day go with me.”

Hamilton then invited Brazilian surf star Gabriel Medina and pop star Anitta along for the ride.

“Gabriel Medina, Neymar and Anitta let’s all go,” he added.

However, it appears the 25-year-old Show das Poderosas singer – who has been romantically linked with Neymar – may not be joining in on the fun.

Hamilton posted Anitta’s reply: “Sky diving, me? Never.”

Ahead of the F1 season opener in Melbourne next weekend, the Mercedes racer was in Qatar to take in qualifying for the opening round of the MotoGP campaign.

The prospect of Hamilton racing on two wheels is being discussed with sponsors Petronas and Monster Energy involved with both the SRT-Yamaha team and the Brit.

An official MotoGP test would be far from his first venture away from F1, with Hamilton taking an interest in fashion, music, and joining Neymar at basketball games.

The Brazilian forward has recently spoken out on his worries about becoming notorious for his play acting antics and perhaps this proposal was deemed too close to home.
